The Fabric of Faithfulness

Kids Watch Last night as we were talking over dinner. Elena was listening fairly seriously to the children’s Christian music playing in the living room. She started asking me some very serious questions about the content of that music. ”Papi – why did Jesus Die?” “Papi – why do we call Jesus our Father? If he is our father, who is our Mother?” “Papi – how can God see everyone inside all their houses?” That then invites that most difficult effort of translation, taking the deepest most theological truths and making them accessible to the mind of a three year old… I’m not sure I did a very good job, but I tried. I pray that Elena will grow in her understanding of the great story of redemption, our need, God’s provision, and that sweet exchange that occurred on the cross. I also pray that I would grow in my ability to explain these great things to children like my Daughter.
